A bedtime photo and a long-ago journey. According to the writing on the back (in my father's handwriting), this is a photo of Ragnhild. Funnily enough someone has also written a list of clothes and the date "13. - 7. -18" on the back of the photo. It looks like somebody has been planning what to bring for an overnight stay:

2 button-on collars
1 shirt
1 pair of underpants
1 pair of socks
1 night shirt
3 day shirts
2 handkerchiefs

The illustration of a sock is a nice detail!

In 1918 Ragnhild was five years old, which could fit well with the age of the girl in the photo. She is in her night dress, sitting on a large sheepskin, hands folded and a smile on her face. A bedtime prayer? The sun is shining in through a window; we can not tell whether it is morning or a summer evening.
Note the magnificent iron oven in the background!
